National Takeover Challenges

The National Youth Takeover Challenge is a national initiative which puts children and young people into real-life decision-making positions in organisations. They are offered the opportunity to takeover the chairing of board meetings, gaining them valuable insight and experience of a workplace, while organisations benefit from a fresh perspective on their work.

Sandwell Council have received a gold award for its success in takeover challenges.

Each year, there are a variety of different takeovers that young people are able to take part in e.g. Takeover of Health and Wellbeing Board.

A maximum of 2 young people from each school (year 9 students and above) can take part in each takeover challenge.

Please note: Places for the takeover challenges are very limited. For the students to take part, SHAPE requires a completed parental consent form and image consent form.

We are currently in the process of planning our Takeover Challenges for this year and as soon as registration is open, you will be able to register here.
