WDH Sandwell (Wider Determinants of Health Sandwell) is an initiative that addresses a range
of social, environmental, and economic factors impacting the health and well-being of the local
population. These factors, known as the wider determinants of health, directly influence both
physical and mental health outcomes. WDH Sandwell offers a range of support, services and
activities, which aims to improve the overall well-being of residents by tackling the underlying
issues that affect their health. Delivered by 15 Sandwell community partners, and in partnership
with the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT), by addressing these wider
determinants, the initiative seeks to create a healthier, more resilient community.
For all Sandwell residents 18+, with targeted support for Black, Asian and minority ethnic
groups, Central and Eastern European (CEE) nationals, Refugees and Migrants, people who have
disabilities and/or long-term conditions, women over 50, and people living in areas of high
deprivation.
Funded until the end of September 2025.
