Am I eligible for an NHS Health Check?

The NHS Health Check is aimed at people aged 40-74 years of age who do not already have heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease or high blood pressure.

Anyone who lives in Sandwell or has a Sandwell GP can access the free NHS Health Check. You can book an appointment with your GP. As well, you can visit one of the specialist Health Check teams who work across Sandwell in lots of different venues. To book one of these sessions contact us and we will offer you an appointment.

I’m over 74, why can’t I have an NHS Health Check?

If you are over the age of 74, you can request a health check-up from your GP or nurse. As a result, you can discuss any concerns or questions you may have about your health.

I received a letter through the post, is this the NHS Health Check?

You will have an invite for a free NHS Health Check every five years by your local GP. However, you can access the NHS Health Check at a different time through our specialist Health Check teams. Just fill in the NHS Health Check form and get an appointment today.

I have high blood pressure, why can’t I have an NHS Health Check?

If you have high blood pressure or an existing condition like heart disease or kidney disease, you should be seeing your doctor about your condition. The NHS Health Check is for people who aren’t currently seeing their doctor for one of these conditions.
