Am I eligible for an NHS Health Check?

The NHS Health Check is aimed at people aged 40-74 years of age, who do not already have heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease or high blood pressure.

Anyone who lives in Sandwell or has a Sandwell GP can access the free NHS Health Check by either booking an appointment with their GP or visiting one of the specialist Health Check teams who are delivering Health Checks across Sandwell in lots of different venues. To book in to one of these sessions, contact us, and we’ll be in touch to offer you an appointment.

I’m over 74, why can’t I have an NHS Health Check?

If you are over the age of 74, you can request a health check-up from your GP or nurse. They will be able to discuss with you any concerns or questions you may have about your health.

I received a letter through the post, is this the NHS Health Check?

You will be invited for a free NHS Health Check every five years by your local GP. Don’t worry if you have missed your appointment, you can access the NHS Health Check at a different time through our specialist Health Check teams. Fill in the NHS Health Check form to get an appointment today.

I have high blood pressure, why can’t I have an NHS Health Check?

If you have high blood pressure, or an existing condition like heart disease or kidney disease, you are already seeing your doctor about your condition. The NHS Health Check is aimed at people who aren’t currently seeing their doctor for heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and haven’t had a stroke.
