Community Liver Health Checks
Liver health checks are taking place at a number of places in Sandwell for those who are eligible.
You don’t need to book an appointment, the scan only takes 7 minutes, and it is non-invasive.
Even if you’re unsure about your eligibility, come along anyway to receive additional support and get further information on how to improve your health.
You are eligible to have a liver health check if you are aged 18-75, plus one of the following:
- Alcohol consumption greater than 14 units per week
- History of Hepatitis B or C
- Aged over 50 with MASLD (fatty liver disease)
- Aged over 50 with Type II diabetes and a BMI over 30 (or over 27, depending on ethnicity)
