Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous website that offers mental health and wellbeing support to young people and young adults in Sandwell aged 11 to 18 (extends to 25 for care leavers and SEND).
The service is funded by the NHS, so it is completely free for young people. There aren’t any thresholds or criteria to meet, and no waiting lists. This means any child or young person can use Kooth as an additional, or sole means of online mental health support.
Young people can chat to qualified counsellors on a text-based service online 365 days a year, Monday to Friday, from midday until 10pm and weekend 6pm until 10pm. Young people can also message the team 24 hours a day, access their fully moderated support forums, online magazine and other self-help tools.
