Everyday legend

The Everyday Legend campaign is all about helping you and your family to be active and healthy. Simple things like going for a walk, playing in the park or even washing the car all count.

Over the course of a week, you should be doing 150 minutes of activity. This doesn’t mean 150 minutes of running! Everyday things like walking to the shops, doing DIY or playing in the park all count.

You can find out more about these guidelines here. Breaking up your 150 minutes into smaller chunks helps you build activity into your everyday.

Fun for the family

There’s loads of fun ways to get active with your family, and make sure everyone is being active and staying healthy. All children should be getting exercise every day, even babies! All children aged from 5 to 18 need at least 1 hour of exercise per day. This can be walking to school or to the shops, and includes their PE lessons and sports sessions at schools. They should have a mix of activities, from moderate exercise like walking, to more vigorous exercise to running. They also need to do exercises that help strengthen their muscles and bones. Why not try out the Change4Life 10 minute shake up games? They are designed using your child’s favourite Disney and Pixar characters to get the whole family enjoying exercise.

Here’s a work out you can do at home with your kids, to make sure the whole family are getting active.
