Stoptober is back!

Stoptober, the 28 day stop smoking campaign from Public Health England, is back from 1st October. Stoptober has driven over 1 million quit attempts to date and is the biggest mass quit attempt in the country. If you can make it to 28 days smokefree, you’re 5 times more likely to stay off cigarettes for good. There lots of ways to quit and Stoptober can help you choose what works for you.

However you stop, be it with patches, gum or vape, Stoptober can be the perfect opportunity to start you on your quitting journey.

Why should you quit?

When you go smokefree, you:

  • feel healthier – your health can improve straight away no matter how long you’ve smoked for
  • save money – if you smoke a packet a day, you could save around £250 each month
  • protect your family – second hand smoke can be harmful to your loved ones

Stoptober offers a range of free support to help you. This includes an app, daily emails, Facebook Messenger and lots of encouragement from the Stoptober online community on Facebook. In addition, you can get expert face to face advice from local stop smoking services.

Those who use stop smoking aids and who get face to face support from their local stop smoking service are up to four times more likely to quit successfully.

You can access FREE stop smoking support across Sandwell. There are loads of sessions at different locations across Sandwell at different times.

If you are interested in quitting smoking, there are a variety of pharmacies across the Borough that you can visit at your convenience during opening hours.
